9. Hydrogen could be very useful as an energy storage medium.

If you have extra energy that you just dump if it's not used why not use it to make hydrogen? Then, use the hydrogen to generate power during times when not enough energy is being produced.

Who cares if it is thermodynamically wasteful when the alternative is to dump the energy?

But, yup. Entropy is a bitch.

And hydrogen is not an energy source for that reason. But it is clean and can be used for storing energy.
