the RAPTURE!!! The religious zealots have to have their self-fulfilling prophecy to prove they were right. We all have to die for them to have their cake and eat it too so environmental degradation is a quick and easy way for them to see it come true in their lifetime.

The planet itself will indeed endure, our species and most others will, however, not.

We're past the tipping point.
