I am also short, but I hate to hem and will not buy a pair of pants that are not the right length anymore. I spent too many years hemming all my pants.

But whenever I have scrap material, I make cat toys by rolling it up like a jelly roll with catnip inside and just sew a seam. But I would be willing to make scarves with it too. I like that idea.
