Based on John 10:10, the phrase "the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy" refers to the devil or false teachers whose purpose is to rob people of their peace, joy, and, ultimately, their spiritual life. It highlights a contrast between the enemy's destructive intent and Jesus’ mission to provide an abundant, fulfilling life.
