When did it become okay to support foreign jihadis to topple a sovereign government?

What threat is Assad to us or his neighbors?

What right do his nondemocratic and despotic neighbours have to pretend to implement "democracy"? Most of them have no democracy or civil rights in their own countries. It's absurd.

IMO we're back in a bizarroworld, that's even more upside down than the Bush era.
