3. Senators to Obama: No uranium enrichment in Iran

Iran cannot be allowed to continue to enrich uranium.

Leading U.S. Senators call for an end to uranium enrichment in Iran. But this condition would put them at odds with the Obama Administration ahead of new nuclear talks. Moreover, six Democrats and four Republicans seek tougher sanctions on Iran and a convincing threat of U.S. military force.

Given Iran's past record, it should not be allowed to enrich uranium. Instead, Iran could possibly buy energy from nearby states.

Giving Iran a free hand on uranium enrichment would most probably end in weaponization.
