Putin is getting the very thing he fears the most; surrounded. Finland and Sweden effectively put a NATO cork in the Baltic, just about landlocking Russia during the long cold Winters.
If it were up to me, I would have the EU and NATO tell Putin that if he doesn't get out of Ukraine as fast as his little feet could carry his ragtag army, that they would be forced to secure their Eastern national borders by temporarily occupying and controlling Belarus. Then invite Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to join NATO. Cut his country off from Eastern Europe and then see how long he can get along with his only friend being his natural enemy, China. I think that China should have autonomy over Russia's Asian inhabitants anyway! 
His little war of aggression has gone on long enough.
I like the idea of sending the Oath Keeper and Proud Bois, to take their guns and their kindred criminal gangs to practice their patriotism in Belarus. In fact, draft anyone who owns an AK or AR, regardless of their age or physical condition. Let them work out their anger issues on someone who deserves it for a fucking change.
