8. As printed, it was definitely someone who had a Slavic language as his native language

As I have pointed out before, Slavic languages don't have articles (a, an, the, e.g.), and native speakers have trouble knowing when to use them when trying to speak western languages. A native speaker of English would have said, "I cannot believe the fate of the world rests in the hands of a man whose son gets a phone alert when he's.........."
