Check out some of the photos of Mateen playing with his little boy.

Even if she had turned him in would it have stopped him? Chances are he would have convinced the law like he did the FBI. They didn't find him dangerous.

I don't know what kind of marriage they had but I know what it's like being married to someone who's dangerous. Trying to do something about it can make things worse. (Women who leave their abusers are 85% more likely to be killed than if they stay, or so I've read.)

Should we assume she was complicit because she's Palestinian or is there something to indicate she's a jihadist too?

All the families must be going through hell right now, including his. I feel for them all.
