Gay pride event has focus on Catholic teacher contract

As the annual Pride Parade winds its way through downtown Cincinnati, its backdrop is the storm of controversy generated by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's new teacher contract and its so-called morality clauses.
Officials from the national Human Rights Campaign amped up the national controversy this week. The Washington, D.C.-based gay rights organization put another spotlight on Cincinnati and other dioceses around the country by sending a letter to the Vatican on behalf of nine teachers who quit their jobs by refusing to sign the new contract.
Cincinnati archdiocese officials sharply countered that the group along with other opposition organizations is mischaracterizing the new contract's provisions.
HRC officials said "the Archdiocese of Cincinnati took anti-LGBT to a new level, calling not only for the firing of gay and lesbian school employees, but also citing support of the 'homosexual lifestyle' as grounds for dismissal." .... MORE at link posted above.
