5. This bill is not going anywhere

The Governor has already said she will oppose it, and it is too late in the session to get it through without unanimous consent in the Senate, which of course will not happen.
Sen. Bright (the most ironically named legislator in the state) is by far the stupidest, most right-wing asshole in the SC Senate. He has a primary opponent and is just throwing red meat to his teabag constituency.

And, the fact this won't pass in no way indicates that SC is more progressive than NC. It just shows that our politicians can at least read newspapers and see the shitstorm this stirred up in NC.
