intent on a message board. Especially on topics some feel "protective" of, I think a knee-jerk reaction/judgment is more likely (I know I respond that way, anyway).

And as long as you're a Gold Star Lesbian (Silver Star might be iffy ), I think everyone will understand and see your real nature and goodness.

As for Bobbolink, I know when I was a practicing addict part of the reason I was afraid to clean up was that it had become such a part of my self-identity. A friend of mine who suffered from bulimia said she felt the same. Maybe Bobbolink was so vested in being poor, she just couldn't see herself enjoying any kind of relief. Maybe the possibility scared her. The effort you made is truly impressive - I hope you realize how special you are.
