53. When my friends and I fought with the school board

in 1955 to vote to allow girls' basketball in our school. We won and we lost. They agreed to start girls' basketball, but they started it the year after we graduated in 1956. The team went to state many times over the years, so I was proud to be part of the group that got the idea approved.
