9. I tried--I really tried

but I never made any garment that didn't make me look like a cafeteria lady or a medieval serf. My ex-mil bought me a great machine in the 70's and I didn't do well with that round, either. I finally gave it away to a fashion student when we moved to NC and didn't ask for it back when we returned.

I like the idea of it and I am not bad at it technically. My home-ec teacher hung my garment inside out on open house night because it was well finished, but when I put it on...ridiculous! Even she couldn't keep from laughing.
