all that time. Once called "sweet potato squash" because of the flavor, but that flavor seems to have changed over the years Biggest problem is that they are "all seed" with not enough meat on them. It does make them easier to stuff, though.

Acorn squashes are all over the place now, and my favorite to stuff. Or just roast and eat plain. Cheese pumpkins are in, too, and they're too big for one or two people, but they are absolutely the best for pies and cakes.

hint: Halloween pumpkins usually kinda suck for eating, but hollow one out and use it as a bowl to serve pumpkin soup. (Soup made from butternuts and cheese pumpkins, of course.)
