the MK4 (I think that is the one) around $100 sometimes on sale for 70 or 80 if you watch. that may seem extreme/expensive but after you have it you will wonder why not sooner. has saved more meals by cooking to temp instead of time than I can count. son has become a grill master with it.

I used to brew and I think I had some kind of floating thermometer...it has been a while or maybe I just dipped a crappy cooking thermometer - more likely I just had to go by boiling, wrist touch, and tap water temps. LOL
