The panels are made with "humps" along the sides that lock together and keep the water from going underneath. Make sure the screws they use have metal washers (I think they are lead) rather than plastic or rubber. The metal washers will last as long as the roof does, the plastic or rubber will break down long before the roof needs replacing.

We put a metal roof on our old doublewide and loved it so much when we built this house, we put a metal roof on it. With that, and with Hardieboard concrete siding, the weakest points are the windows. We may have to replace them before we die, but that is OK.
