Help! LG Washer Drum Spin Issue (LE Error) [View all]
What happened and what I tried: Today, the LG Direct Drive washer started throwing the "LE" error when trying to spin what happened to be a couple of soaking wet, heavy blankets. I removed one blanket, but still it LE'd. That much weight all in one spot seemed to be an issue, so I threw in some "lighter" laundry to help balance the load in the drum. Still LE'd. So I took it all out and just tried running a normal load of t-shirts, socks, etc. It *still* LE'd! And this time, the door wouldn't unlock.
Lastly, I reset the washer: unplugged, pressed the Start/Pause button for a few seconds, and then let it sit for 30 minutes. When I powered it back up, the door unlocked (thankfully), but the load still LE'd. To be fair, while the water was pumping in, the drum turned ONCE, which is normal, (got in a full rotation, I think), but a few seconds later when it tried to turn again it just wiggled several times and then gave the LE error.
Final Result: So it seems that a) the drum CAN turn, but b) the drum can't handle ANY load. When empty, I can still turn the drum by hand.
Question: Does this sound like a SENSOR problem? And are the sensors user-replaceable?
