In reply to the discussion: Tomorrow I will release my Gracie cat from her pain and struggle. [View all]classof56
(5,376 posts)37. Prophet, yours is the perfect response.
Today I held onto Gracie as she ascended to the Heavyside Layer, singing the words as she left--"Up up up past the Russell Hotel..." The vet who so gently assisted the journey knew about Grizzabella and all the wonderful Cats characters, and she affirmed that, like Grizzabella, Gracie was going to that better place. How heartening to know that your Jelli and Mac along with Sandy and Suki were there to greet her. I shall always miss my Gracie and won't soon stop crying, but what a joy to know we'll see each of them again, huh? The place where no shadows fall...beautifully said!
Blessings to you!

Triana, you've said it so well--the ultimate act of love is to not allow her to suffer any longer.
