Congratulations on the shelter rescues! Several of the dogs I had were rescues also.
Where I live (a very small community) our shelter is so successful at finding homes for animals that they actually bring them in from other states to place them here locally.
Yeah, gotta love and hug them every day they are with you on this earth. My Border, Pearl (my user name, I called her PearliePoo as a term of endearment) lived to 15-1/2 years. She finally got doggie dementia, started going to a corner and staring at the wall and then she quit eating. Worst day of my life to have to take her in to the vet.
She (Pearlie) was the best dog anyone could ever dream of. I grieve for her still and always will. Her ashes are on my desk in front of me now.
Wish I knew how to post my favorite photo of her sitting on my Polaris 4-wheeler (her favorite toy..lol) waiting to ride with me hauling firewood!
Thanks for the nice description and stories of your beautiful dogs!
