Rude people prefer aggressive dogs, study finds [View all]

A new study conducted by the University of Leicester's School of Psychology has revealed a link between rude personality types and their tendency to own a breed of dog perceived as aggressive.

Researchers administered personality tests to test subjects, including a question about their preferred canine breed.

What they found was that "low agreeableness" was the best predictor of a preference for dogs seen as more aggressive, such as bull terriers.

Researchers had independently rated various dogs according to how aggressive they are seen to be. Bull terriers and boxers hit the top of the list, while Cocker spaniels came in cuddliest.
