I cringe when I see people letting their dog sit on their lap and hang our the window. They tell you their dog has never tried to jump out of the car. Well, can you promise beyond a shadow of a doubt that your dog will not act like a dog? There is always that first and unexpected time which more times than not results in loss ( permanent or not ), death, or injury.

If an animal has free range of the car and will not let paramedics near a passenger who desperately needs medical attention so they do not die will be shot by the police. They are not going to wait for animal control to get there.
