My mother had the same type of retirement annuity from an old job and it was set up to pay a monthly amount until death.

Afterwards, they were not contacted by the trustee (my brother) and kept paying into the account I inherited. Once I discovered the problem and contacted the annuity company, they took back all over payments. I had no legal say in the matter.

I wish there was better news.

So sorry for your loss.

The Trustee didn't. I even told him about it, (without telling him that they were still giving me Maraya1969 Sep 2020 #2

Your mom would have set up the beneficiary. Trustee can't change distribution of the estate. sinkingfeeling Sep 2020 #3
