10. It already happened to my wife.

Thug approached her with a gun, she pulled hers and the thug ran away.
Whether you want to believe it or not doesn't matter, the cops took a report, arrested the guy for the same thing a few days later, wife identified him as the one who attempted to rob her, she testified and thug went to prison for attempted armed robbery and armed robbery.

Nothing Hollywood about it.
It does make me feel better that she was able to defend herself.
And there's no need to get snotty about it.
