Consequently I personally dislike the breed. I consider them to be barking rats. A Boston Terrier is a much better bread if you wish a small dog. (Note: Just my opinion which is largely influenced by my experience as a child.)
But I would never consider a Chihuahua attack as threatening to my life or health so I wouldn't use my handgun for defense. Of course if I was bit and couldn't find the owner, I might have to get a rabies shot.
