A week ago Rahm signed a check for close to $400,000 as partial payment for legal fees for losing the McDonald case at SCOTUS, but it hasn't slowed his desire for more control or to gamble with the people's tax money one little bit.

I doubt if that big ass check has even cleared yet, but ...

In spite of closing Chicago libraries every Monday, plans to close 14 schools in Chicago and lay off a hundred or more teachers, consolidate police districts, install speed cameras near every street corner to generate revenue etc., Rahm is now willing to gamble tax money in court again, by calling for the statewide registration of all handguns at $65 each, "to help solve Chicago's crime problems".

I wonder how many Chicago gang members will be registering their collections, if Rahm gets his way? Will they finally start checking the serial numbers and ballistics of all those guns they get at the next "buy back"?

At least he and Daley's bodyguards and none of the Chicago aldercritters will have to register any of their handguns.

Our downstate Dems (e.g. everyone not from Chicago) are already saying the idea is a non starter legislatively.
