The women I know who carry don't talk about it, and shouldn't. And the vast majority of them won't talk to you about it, unless you are interested in arming yourself.

The open-carry outlook is actually a ploy. The activists in thus group really want the Texas Legislature to legalize open-carry of handguns; their interest is not in long guns, but it is legal and serves their interests to demonstrate and pressure the government to pass OC of handguns. I don't favor OC, but have noted some vociferous gun-control people in DU who argue that if any carry is allowed, it should be "open" so they will know who to avoid, or from whom they should keep their kids.

Strange bedfellows.
