This just shows how lopsided the power between"gun rights vs gun control" support is. When the "pro" side has much more support, than the "anti" side. Once the "anti" side of anything makes a big fuss, they can expect push back from the "pro" side.

Why are folks surprised, did they not expect consequences from trying to force gun control for a vote?

This should be taken as a word of warning for those that say "repeal the 2nd Amendment" from the bill of rights crowd.. But it won't be, they tend to make the same mistakes over and over and over and over....

Takes a 2/3 vote to do that....Let's call the states together,and SEE if they would repeal, or strengthen the 2nd Amendment.
