Although I have not favored conceal carry prior to seeing the posted video in the OP, I agree with your assessment regarding a .45 versus a .380. I'm now in the market for a concealable .45 and have a S&W 625 JM for home defense. It never jams, but it is something that is obviously too big for conceal carry.

While looking for more information regarding the Glock 36 that you mention, I ran across a web site. You might want to check it out. From the video that he posted regarding a problem with the Glock 36 that he now considers to be a relatively common problem that other Glock 36 owners have had, it's clear that he is an experienced shooter and he has a proper grip on his Glock 36 when firing it. He has information which you might want to be aware of.
