A customer of Trading Place Pawn Shop remains in serious but stable condition after an accidental shooting at the business’s firing range.

Monroe Police Department officials confirmed Monday no charges are expected to be filed.

According to the MPD report, officers were dispatched Thursday to the Monroe business after reports of someone being shot accidentally. According to the report, the victim was at the counter filling out a range agreement when another customer entered holding a Springfield Armory .45 caliber automatic handgun. The customer was speaking with an employee about a problem with the weapon and began to “manipulate the slide on the weapon,” according to the report.
