but I can see a scenario where it would be the case. What worries me is the current separation between the military and the civilian population. Because of the all-volunteer force, the military is not representative of the population as a whole, a result I believe the MIC planned for. If it is not our sons and daughters it is much easier to use them for resource wars or whatever. "They volunteered!"
That, plus the fact that many of them have gone through hell with multiple deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, means that they can relate better to each other than to civilians. That is not a good thing.
