Norwegian Elkhound. She too was overly protective. When she, unprovoked, bit a neighbor's 2 1/2-year old boy on his forehead, that do was gone within an hour. I was quite young, but I'm sure that dog was better off at the farm where my dad found her a home. He was not home enough to become the dog's master.
