Besides a few obsessed far-left partisans (and conservatives desperate for the white house) I don't think anyone actually believed Clinton had malicious intent in using her personal server.

The introduction of this narrative it's perplexing. I don't know if this is an attempt at misdirection rather than focusing on the central issue; did the actual use of the private email server violate federal law. Motive need not always be malicious intent.
