it's a lot more nerve-wracking because the one I flew in Afghanistan cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and I knew if I crashed it, I would be in trouble.

Long story short, I ended up crashing it - had to search over a two-day span to find it. Never found it, but in one of the few instances where my writing skills served me, I wrote up a report that covered my ass and nothing much came out of it.
