I am proud to consider myself her "paisana" and do think of her as the first feminist of the Americas. I have in my library her biography written by Octavio Paz. She is said to have corresponded with Isaac Newton, in Latin. Do seek to learn whatever you can find about this remarkable woman. She is my heroine.
