(135,425 posts)Did she do this to be a "big cheese," or did something happen in her family dynamic that caused her to want to separate from her caucasian family and bond to the black cultural experience? Was she rejected/abused in one milieu, and accepted/validated/esteemed in another? Does she have a fragile personality, and is that due to some trauma she suffered in her youth? If so, what KIND of trauma?
I just don't understand her parents. They're painting her like she's Kooky Crazy Lady...yet they allowed her to take custody of one of their younger children? And they're going on TV and trashing her, basically? Is this a pre-emptive move, because they're afraid she'll say something that disparages them?
Something just isn't making sense here.
