I will never understand what people gain from trolling protected groups just to find ways to be offended.
It has to be personal and that makes it petty. My view of a protected group is just that - it's a group for safe expression. If you don't want to be offended by what you might read in a protected group - don't click on the group. If you're trolling protected groups just to find something to alert on, you should be banned. If you troll protected groups just to stalk a certain poster in order to alert on them, you should be banned.
For that matter, those who stalk just to harass and alert should be banned.
Bad behavior should be alerted on, of course, but that's not what I see happening for the most part in protected groups. I've been on a few juries involving protected groups and you can tell when the alert is a case of someone reading posts just to find something, anything, to alert.
Again, I'm sorry you were the victim of this petty behavior. Don't take a break. It's what they want - and never, ever give them what they want.
