Sorry, I'm just seeing this. DU worked my last nerve a few months ago and I haven't been here in ages. After seeing yet another white person tell me and other black people what is and is not considered a racially insensitive comment, I realized that life is simply much too short for the non-stop display of narrow-minded foolishness here.

I just stopped by Meta and the same drama, bullshit, "battles" and non-stop flareups (and which always, ALWAYS involve the same people too. You would think some self-awareness would start at some point when you realize that you/your group are involved in yet another brou ha with half the board but I guess that's just wishful thinking on my part) are still taking place. The expression "get a life" immediately comes to mind with most of these people but if they had lives, they wouldn't be in Meta showing their asses day in and day out in the first place.

I love this post. The rest of the world is absolutely thrilled. The day of the elections, half of my department was in my office. I had Americans, Brits, Aussies, Indians, Indonesians, Filipinos, Vietnamese and Lord knows what else wanting constant updates and they were almost as nervous as I was. When the results came in, not ONE single person regardless of nationality was disappointed. We were all over the moon, in fact and still are!
