(38,057 posts)MavericK PAC was a few days ago. Bush (of course because his son is a key member), Fiorina, and I *think* Erik Prince was there again. They are focused on folks under the age of 40. Those were dramatically different speeches than what is heard at the Value Voters thingy.
Why can't we do the same? Speak to different coalitions in the party in different "languages"?
The problem the Republicans have specifically with black Americans (not people of color - blacks specifically) - they stopped dancing with the ones who " brung 'em" and made their dance partner into a scapegoat. They took for granted the affluent, rich, and wealthy black vote and assumed we would go along to get along?
How's that working out for them?
I think you've posted about your family before - and our families probably crossed paths.
My dad used to say (his dad's father died when my dad was 16) - every time I vote Democratic my gradfather rolls over in his grave.
That man lived, made money, and died in Alabama - and he was always able to vote.
Once upon a time - before we were even Americans - before we had full rights of citizenship (1965) - we were Republicans. We chose equality over personal bank acvounts -and the rest is history.
