Seriously, this is true. Liberals have been rightly accusing right-wing loons of fearing poc but fail to examine their own racism, we have to do this, its time. For decades I thought I was very progressive, why I have a multiracial daughter and a black grandson, of course I'm not a racist.
My self examination came when I started working at my historically black hospital. Sometimes I'm the only white person there. I found out I really ain't the shit I thought I was. It was a shock to my self esteem to find out white privilege did not earn me respect. 15 years later I am still learning.
The important thing I learned just this week is we are having a job fair and I suggested our major recruiting point should be we are a black hospital, we are history, we are culture, we are proud. Now I've heard the saying black and proud for decades, starting to understand it.
