In reply to the discussion: Enough is Enough Rally Cancelled by Organizers, plus Cornell West [View all]LiberalArkie

Here's a statement from Facebook:
Time Out, fellow Sanders supporters! We apologize if we have not explained our recent transition well enough. I, Dory and George are still involved on the event planning committee now led by Lawrence Nathaniel and Michele Horne. Our difficulties in putting together the 'Enough is Enough' rally, which included lack of a large rally space in DC available BEFORE the first primaries, and an inability to secure the participation of the Sanders campaign, were solved by the incredible luck of attracting the interest of a new non-profit youth organization (Youth Matters) which had already started planning for a 'progressive agenda' event that had been pre-approved by the Sanders campaign, and was tentatively scheduled for early next year. Quick thinking on both our parts produced a partnership coalition of the two groups that agreed would offer the best opportunity for success in promoting the political solutions and candidates benefiting the public good. We are working on a much larger event now, one with a youth night to engage the very important young voters, followed by another celebration event the next evening with what we believe will be a 'who's who' of progressive leaders and personalities. Bernie Sanders has been invited to speak as keynote speaker and we are awaiting his acceptance, which we hope to receive shortly. We hope you will give us the benefit of the doubt that must be part of the entire progressive election effort - the resurgence of the people and populist politics against a moneyed class of super wealthy corporatist, and support our honest attempt to prove that the will of the people cannot be deterred by the corrupting power of money. We will make every effort to keep you informed of our progress, and the direction we're moving in as we sail through uncharted waters toward the biggest progressive event in Washington this fall. Thanks for your patience, your commitment and your good will.

This page is trying to start it again. They claim that Lawrence Nathaniel and others are attempting to sabotage the effort, as they did the original rally. A lot of confusion there. Claims by the organizer that people are trying to hack her account. People claiming the organizer is a fraud. Anyone here have any insight?

I bet. There are always those types lurking around for easy money. I hope nobody bought plane tics.

And the season is so early. We have about 6 before the convention and a year before the finals.

I agree. It is a bit confusing to me. I lean towards the organizers being at fault.
