(27,835 posts)... he captured my attention - and apparently I was not alone.
He is incredibly well-spoken, and expresses his thoughts with strength, style, and a sense of purpose.
Back in DU's better days (when this actually WAS a site for Democrats), he would have been lauded for his insight and ability to initiate meaningful discussion. As things now stand, he is just another poster who needs to be sent to the proverbial corner in order to atone for the "error of his ways" - i.e. speaking up, speaking out, and speaking the truth.
What DU has devolved into is truly tragic. What was once a site that would have embraced a poster of ChiTownKev's caliber is now just a place where only group-think is tolerated - and anyone failing to fall into lockstep is "alerted" on until they are exiled to TimeOutLand.
I hope ChiTownKev will return - but if chooses not to, I can't say I disagree with that decision, or his reasons for leaving this cesspit behind.
