(3,619 posts)I have stepped back and viewed the campaigns themselves and primary dynamics as a whole critically rather than jumping on any particular bandwagon. A revolution is not about any one person nor is changing those gender dynamics that have systematically marginalized women. Yes, mourn a loss but it can only be a small setback if you have a true vision for social change. There are SO many rooms in which we all need to participate in revolutions, both big and small, that sitting is not an option. It is a "standing room only" time in history. If one believes they are part of revolutionary change, then losing a battle is simply a challenge that tests one's mettle as they strive to win the war. We are all on the same side. It is not comfortable over here on this side. There are differences. Divisions. There are hard questions that need to be asked. There is self-reflection that must be engaged in. But, we can and must work together. If things go as most anticipate they will, it will be a true test of our ability to do just that. And, yes, failure will hurt some of us more than others.
