"So damn sick of the narrow and limited representations of people of color in the media."

As a guy, it might be out of place for me to say this, but it gets monotonous that every time when there is a Black woman on a commercial, she is almost always rocking an afro. It gives the impression that most Black women wear their hair like that and look like that, which is false. In RL, I don't even see too many wearing that style.

This is slightly off-topic, but another thing that I would add that has caught my attention is about how Latinos are portrayed in the media. The average Latino they show on TV tends to be light-skinned and maybe slightly darker than the average White person (such as some of the folks on Univision), but there are plenty of Afro-Latinos out there who are as dark as (or darker than) me, like Carmelo Anthony and Zoe Saldana. They seem to rarely get represented.
