Skinner - I founded a community years ago - I stepped down from it entirely a few months ago as I'm no longer in step and haven't been for many years. You want tension? Try mixing second wives up whose marriages started with affairs with second wives who were first wives whose marriages ended due to their ex husband's affair. Try managing do not admit lists (extensive due to the nature of child custody cases), any posts related to political or social commentary (tried that board epic fail), and Mormons mixing with Atheists.

I'm sharing this because I understand the ebb and flow of online communities. There are STILL people out there and mad because I gave them the boot years ago. One thing I've learned - cliques form.

My feeling is either don't read someone's posts or put them on ignore. Take what you need and leave the rest.

After that thread by Manny - I decided not to read him anymore. I tried as did many of your other African American members - but we all decided his passive aggressive apology was a load of bullshit.

Now the thread I linked was done by him to mock and laugh at the very real stereotyping of black folks as fried chicken and water melon eating "porch monkeys". MrScorpio had a thread showing why a school was wrong - then Manny - always the peacock had to post that shit.

It's always "I'm so sorry no offense from him." I almost married a guy like that years ago and thank God I had the common sense to tread for daylight. I have very little tolerance for nonsense.

That thread was the nail in the coffin for him for MANY black members of DU and those non black members who saw what he did there. He did that. He did it to himself.

And he's free to do that. But the reality is that we DO "speak" entirely off this site and in the margins he is referred to as a bigot. On a go forward basis - we will keep it off site - but if he is going to behave like a cry baby and come into the AA group when most of us just pass over his posts in GD - it's going to cause discord.

He just had to deliver that punch on this thread didn't he? He can't leave well enough alone.

I'm just being honest with you. You can't make us have one iota of respect for someone who has ZERO respect for our voices - and well . . . Our votes.
