how people can present themselves as so persecuted over a single post and show absolutely no concern for the kind of discrimination and hostility others, especially people of color, face on a daily basis. It now appears that they seem to believe prosperous white people are the most persecuted on the planet. They remind me of Mitt Romney. The level of self-absorbed tone-deafness is startling.

I just saw one who spends most of her time bashing the Democratic party talking about how "Democrats" are persecuted on this site and that "liberals" are being run off by the likes of you. Evidently liberal no longer includes anyone who doesn't harbor resentment that anyone who isn't exactly like them in age, race, class, and political outlook is allowed to participate on this site. In other words, the majority of the population of this country.

I even saw someone accuse you of wishing people dead. I went back and read the post to see if I had missed anything. I had not. I pointed out that she had mischaracterized your post, and she changed the subject to your hidden posts. I'm starting to wonder if your age point might not have some truth to it. That person was outraged at the suggestion that the demographic make-up of the country is changing across generations as people die. It seemed to me that she felt offended at the suggestion that she wasn't immortal and would eventually die like every other human being before her. Perhaps what we are witnessing is the "me" generation of Baby Boomers who refuse to come to terms with the fact they aren't more important than very other generation before and since and that even they are mortal.
