..but since I made the OP, I've seen the pilot. Seriously, not the worst Super Hero treatment I've seen (movies and TV) - and I tend to see them all.
Had I been the network exec I would have sent it back with some required major changes. But I thought the actress nailed the role.
But there might be other forces at play regarding this not making it to series. I've heard from semi-reliable movie sources (someone who knows someone, yada yada) that Warners pulled the plug on this when they became serious about developing their stable of A-list heroes for the big screen and that no matter how good this could have been, it would have never made it to series.
Actually, this isn't totally unheard of. The 'Superboy' series of the late 80s/early 90s wasn't canceled because of ratings - it was canceled when Lois and Clark was developed and Warners didn't want two versions of Superman competing. This same scenario was also discussed regarding Superman Returns and Smallville - but Smallville survived. Related to this, the reason a young Bruce Wayne never appeared on Smallville (although it was at one time planned) was because of the Nolan Batman movies.
Likewise, the Wonder Woman character couldn't appear on Smallville because of a contract with Joel Silver who was developing a Wonder Woman movie at the time. Although in the season three episode 'Asylum,' a newspaper headline reads "Themyscirian Queen Address The Vatican", which refers to Wonder Woman's mother, Queen Hippolyta, and the home of the Amazons, Themyscira.
