This was the original query:

After the superhero Scarlet Knight is killed, his former sidekick and foster son Bobby Buckalew is drafted to take on the fallen hero's mantle and secret identity. He struggles to balance his new responsibilities with his senior year in High School. After all, getting into Doctor Warhammer's secret fortress is easy. Getting into your first choice of colleges isn't.

When a giant squid is bearing down on his school, Bobby must find a way to defeat him and still have time to finish his Spanish homework. When a random locker check turns up his sword, Bobby has to think fast to try and avoid expulsion. And when the mysterious killer who took out the original Scarlet Knight strikes again, Bobby must solve the mystery and bring the villain to justice before he becomes just another victim.

THE SIDEKICK (complete at 68,000 words) is a young adult novel for every teen boy who once ran around the schoolyard with his jacket tied around his neck like Superman’s cape and is now looking to fit into the adult world.

PAB SUNGENIS is a comedian, playwright, and the creator of the daily comic strip "The New Adventures of Queen Victoria," distributed by Universal Uclick. He is also the screenwriter for the short film Club 27, an official selection of the Project Twenty1/Philadelphia International Film and Animation Festival.

The funny thing is that I never thought of doing a sequel. I thought the story was done. We'll see what I can come up with.
