Because if you did, we'd have no other choice but to infer that you hold others to a higher standard than you hold yourself, and that you are merely justifying in yourself the same actions you so righteously condemn in others. Although that would most likely result only in a chuckle, a little pat on the head, and an ever-so-sweet, "bless your little heart..."
