religion; it's more about the contradiction: You point to the sky every time a touchdown is scored as if God is picking sides in what is undeniably a very violent sports game.

Does God choose sides?
Does He even care about such worldly things?

And so, every time I see any sports figure pointing to the sky after a home run or touchdown or field goal, or whatever, I have to wonder: God choosing sides?
